1. Who we are

Bodhi: Your AI Spiritual Companion is responsible for your personal data.

2. Who may use the app

You must be 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger.

3. What we collect

Account data: email address and the name you choose. Profile data you choose to give: date of birth, life stage, goals, interests, habits. Conversation content: everything you write to the AI and its replies, plus journal entries. Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, usage counts (for example daily message counts).

4. Sensitive information

What you share may reveal religious or philosophical beliefs or health information. Under data protection law, this is a special category of data. We process it only with your explicit consent, which we ask for at signup. You may withdraw consent at any time, but the app may then stop working for you.

5. Why we use your data

To run the app and personalise answers: contract and your explicit consent.

To prevent abuse, bots and fraud, and to enforce usage limits: legitimate interests.

To improve the AI and the product: only if you give separate consent. We analyze conversations, after removing identifying details where possible, to improve how the AI responds and to fix product problems. A person may read samples. You can withdraw consent at any time in About me & privacy, and you can keep using the app without it.

6. Who processes your data

Our hosting and database provider, and our AI provider, to which your messages are sent to generate replies. Some providers may process data outside the EU/EEA under appropriate safeguards.

7. Retention

Account data and chat history: until you delete your account. Chats used to improve the product: up to 90 days, then deleted or fully anonymized. You can download or delete your data at any time in About me & privacy.

8. Your rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and objection, and withdraw consent. You may also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or your local authority.

9. Security

We use access controls, encrypted connections and optional two-factor authentication. No system is completely secure.

10. AI limitations

Replies are generated by AI and may be inaccurate. We do not use your data for automated decisions that significantly affect you.

11. Changes

We will tell you about material changes and ask for consent again where required.
